Alicia - Class of 2011

I met Alicia at Alan & Kelly's wedding. She really liked their engagement pictures taken at Lone Star Lakes park. Alicia spends a lot of her free time there and wanted to have her senior portraits there. Having shot there last month I had some ideas & locations, so did she. Her boyfriend came along and was a big help holding the reflector & making her smile.

Derek Jr - Halloween

This is going to be Derek Jr.'s first Halloween, and Derek & Jen wanted to get some cute pictures. We setup a little studio with some great props and took pictures as long as he was cooperating, then we would break for a bit and try again. He was really good for about 15minutes at a time. Here are some of the best.

Hatfield Wedding

Alan and Kelly had a great wedding at the fire station he volunteers at. I had a lot of fun sharing and documenting it. Kelly and her girls were ready extra early to get some great pictures of just them. Then I walked down the street to meet the guys and take pictures of them getting ready.

It was a wonderful day, they fully utilized the fire station & engine for their ceremony even getting a ride home in it. They did a great job with the fire fighter theme right down to using a hatchet to cut the cake.

Kelly wanted to make sure that they had plenty of time for some fun shots which was great for me. I am so happy for both of them, they are a wonderful couple.

Thompson Wedding

I had the privilege of photographing Ashley & Jason's wedding on Oct. 2, 2010. It was a beautiful ceremony at a cute little church in Gibsonville, NC. They are a great couple, they were in Chesapeake back in July and I did their engagement pictures at the Virginia Beach Oceanfront. The reception was a great party, Jason's grandmother was tearing up the dance floor.

Having Fun

I borrowed a second flash from my co worker and set up a little studio to have some fun and learn using two flashes. There were two big windows to the left of the image providing most of the fill light, I kept the second flash to the right of the image most of the time. The first flash was mounted on the camera and wasn't always on. I am looking at some options for doing more off camera flash work, including an upcoming project once the leaves start falling.

This a great learning experience, I was hoping some of my friends would stop by to model for me, but it didn't happen. If you want to know the next time I am looking to experiment & get some free shots, follow me on Twitter.
